The all-new fiber optic cables allow for fast detection, high data bandwidth, and improved lightning protection. With small hardware and a hub-only installation option, BLADEcontrol NXT is a solution for practical blade monitoring. The 6-axis MEMS accelerometers and gyroscope measure natural frequency shifts and spikes in signal energy to determine precise damage types and location. Powered by Weidmuller’s open operating system, u-OS, data is seamlessly integrated into the Web Visualization (WebVis) online interface for easy data access and analysis. Most importantly, BLADEcontrol NXT promises a 2-year ROI for new large turbines by detecting early damage, reducing downtime, avoiding unnecessary climbs, and making maintenance activities less complicated.
