Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston to Deliver Keynote at Leading Ocean Energy Conference

Oceantic Network announced Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston as a keynote speaker for its annual International Partnering Forum (IPF), taking place February 9-12, 2026, in New York City. Premier Houston will address attendees during the offshore energy conference’s Closing Plenary on Thursday, February 12, sharing Nova Scotia’s bold offshore energy vision and the province’s commitment to international collaboration.

Nova Scotia recently unveiled plans to auction 5 GW of offshore wind energy by 2030, with its first call for bids expected later this year. The province’s proximity to the U.S. East Coast and its deep maritime expertise position it as a natural partner for the American offshore energy supply chain—especially as the U.S. industry faces federal regulatory headwinds that threaten to stall progress.

“As the U.S. offshore wind industry navigates headwinds, international partnerships like those with Nova Scotia offer an important path forward,” said Liz Burdock, founder and CEO of Oceantic Network. “Premier Houston’s leadership and vision for offshore wind in Atlantic Canada are exactly the kind of momentum our industry needs right now. His keynote will underscore the power of cross-border collaboration to unlock new markets and strengthen our American supply chain.”

“Nova Scotia has some of the world’s most ideal conditions for offshore wind, offering an exciting opportunity to help meet growing energy demand in Nova Scotia and the U.S. I look forward to pitching our province at one of the preeminent offshore renewables' conferences in North America,” said Premier Tim Houston. “Our target of 5 GW by 2030 is ambitious, but achievable—and we know that strong partnerships with U.S. companies and stakeholders will be key to our success.”

Premier Houston’s remarks will emphasize the importance of a resilient and integrated North American offshore energy market, highlighting opportunities for Canadian and U.S. developers, suppliers, and workforce to support Nova Scotia’s energy goals.

2026 IPF-Energy at Sea will convene global leaders, developers, suppliers, and policymakers in New York City, expanding the conversation to include grid and transmission and the broad spectrum of ocean economy sectors, including tidal, wave, and floating solar energy technologies.
