SolarReviews Announces the Results of the 2025 Solar Industry Survey
SolarReviews has announced the results of its 2025 survey of the solar industry, detailed in the 2025 Solar Industry Survey Report. The Survey—now in its third year—was conducted from December 2nd, 2024 through January 3rd, 2025, receiving responses from companies that represent many facets of the solar industry.
The Report breaks down key trends in the solar industry as it begins 2025, with sections covering business challenges, workforce development, the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act, and more.
“This year’s report shows there is never a dull moment in the solar industry,” said Ben Zientara, SolarReviews’ industry and policy analyst. “With pandemic-related supply chain issues largely in the rearview mirror, the industry is now overwhelmingly concerned about political uncertainty and the potential for new tariffs and changes to solar incentives.”
Nearly 60% of survey respondents represent residential solar installation companies, and the report has a special focus on their needs and desires. The vast majority of those installers saw the closure of one or more large competitors in 2024, which brought up a number of challenges, including increased service calls and the need to improve customer service to retain and attract customers. Nearly 25% of residential companies now say they offer third-party warranty coverage to improve their sales pitch.
Despite all of the challenges they face, companies in the solar industry remain confident in their ability to handle whatever 2025 has in store. 90% of all companies feel confident they can stay in business in the coming months, and over three-fourths of residential installers expect to see increased demand this year.
