SolarEdge Technologies, Inc., a global leader in smart energy technology announced the appointment of Mr. Bertrand Vandewiele as the new General Manager of SolarEdge in North America.

Mr. Vandewiele has a proven track record in the sustainable energy space and leading global commercial building solutions and has served in leadership positions at ABB, Honeywell and Phillips. 

Mr. Vandewiele is succeeding Mr. Peter Mathews, who has served as General Manager of SolarEdge in North America since 2012. Mr. Mathews expanded SolarEdge’s North American solar operations across the United States, accelerating solar adoption in all 50 states. In his new role, Mr. Mathews will remain with the company, overseeing new strategic initiatives, driving innovation and supporting Mr. Vandewiele in the transition.

Mr. Vandewiele commented: “I’m excited to join SolarEdge and lead the talented team in North America. It is a pivotal time for the PV industry and I look forward to working closely with our installers and commercial developers, innovating the experience for them and their customers with smart energy solutions.”

Mr. Vandewiele holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The Ecole Nationale Superieur d'Ingenieurs du Mans, France and an Executive Master of Business Administration from The Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
