Kansas Department of Commerce

Centrally located in the heart of the North American wind corridor, Kansas offers excellent access to the key regions for wind farm development and an operating environment for wind turbine component manufacturing. Leading wind energy companies have found Kansas to be an ideal location from which to serve the US market. The state is ranked number two nationally for wind potential, and has over 1,000 MW in installed wind generation. Positive state policies include an RPS of 20% by 2020 and property tax exemption for projects generating electricity from renewable sources.
