Edison Energy has helped major specialty chemical manufacturer Ashland add one of Delaware's largest solar carports to its headquarters in Wilmington. Ashland relocated to Delaware from Kentucky after its purchase of Hercules, Inc., a Wilmington-based chemical and munitions manufacturer.

The new solar carports are part of a sustainability program that has also turned a former landfill on the campus into habitat for birds, butterflies, foxes, and other wildlife. The carports generate 904 kilowatts of electric power, enough for 160 typical households, and were installed by Constellation Energy, a subsidiary of Exelon.
