Distributed Solar Development (DSD), in partnership with the Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative (CVEC), has completed the installation of two carport solar canopies, totaling 1.763 MW, and a 892 kWh energy storage system at the Brewster's Captains Golf Course and Driving Range on Cape Cod. The installations will generate enough power for 266 homes annually and offset 1,462 metric tons of carbon emissions each year.

Carport solar canopies at the Brewster's Captains Golf Course and Driving Range on Cape Cod

Two other sites in the portfolio are also operational. The Sandwich Police Department installation includes two carport solar canopies, totaling 201.69 kW, extending over the station parking lot. The system generates 217,211 kWh a year, reducing the town's annual carbon footprint by approximately 154 metric tons of CO2e.

The second site is a 239.49 kW rooftop solar system at Monomoy High School, installed in cooperation with the Town of Harwich. The system generates 282,200 kWh per year, avoiding approximately 200 metric tons of carbon emissions annually.

The 12 remaining projects in the portfolio, eight of which include energy storage systems, are in the development and construction phases. The projects are located at eight different schools, a golf course, and a landfill. Six are carport installations, four are rooftop, and two are ground-mounted.
