AC serial switching system

KACO new energy's Ultraverter combines the advantages of module- and string-level inverters in a new AC series system architecture. Ultraverter's "AC Optimizer" concept was awarded the highly coveted Innovation Prize at the “30th Photovoltaics Solar Energy Symposium” in Bad Staffelstein, Germany, for being one of the rare and disruptive innovations in solar electronics.

Highlights of the KACO new energy Ultraverter product include: aerospace-grade reliability with class III manufacturing tolerances, module-level efficiency for maximum energy yield: shade, soil, and fault tolerant, 1 inverter model, compatible with global grid voltages and frequencies 50/60 Hz (120 - 208 -230 – 240), and is forward compliant (NEC 2014 2017). With a focus on lower labor cost, there is no separate trunk cable required, it uses the same PV system wiring practices as string inverters – PV cable only with standard Amphenol H4 connectors, and has an easy system design with three parts for 1kW though 9kW. The Ultraverter is available as stand-alone unit or “AC Module embedded”.
