High-voltage PV controller

Morningstar Corporation features their TriStar MPPT 600 Volt with TrakStar Technology, which enables the use of high-voltage PV input or wind turbines up to 3 kWp. Available at the end of 2012, this controller may be used in parallel for up to 12 kWp. The high-voltage PV used in on-grid systems can charge 48-volt batteries without the need to re-wire PV modules; plus, system costs can be reduced by using less expensive, on-grid modules or thin-film modules in a series string. This is the first Morningstar controller to allow for up to four parallel inputs from one generator source to operate like a single 240A output controller, improving string sizing options for larger arrays, and higher power hydro and wind system charge control (4 x 3200 W = 12.8 kW input). Morningstar also features their latest SunSaver, now available with extra benefits, including: four-stage battery charging; 15 V max charge limit for sensitive loads; UL 1741 certification; and more.
