Lynkwell Expands Fleet Electrification Suite of Offerings with WEX Payment Integration

Lynkwell, a leading energy infrastructure provider, announced that it completed its integration of WEX payment technology into its comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) charging software and service platform. The integration positions Lynkwell as the only all U.S.-based, vertically-integrated EV charging company to provide WEX corporate-grade payment capabilities across its multitude of station networks. This enables fleets to use the WEX DriverDash mobile app or use the WEX RFID card to start a charge at one of the thousands of Lynkwell chargers across the country. WEX joins Lynkwell’s growing network of roaming partners that includes ChargeHub and Hubject.

The electrification of commercial fleets continues to be an ongoing business consideration for many companies, with lower total cost of ownership and reduced maintenance responsibilities representing enticing benefits. While the hardware side of the value equation is often the focus, much of the financial and operational rewards are rooted in the software managing the chargers. WEX, the global commerce platform that simplifies the business of running a business, brings secure, scalable, and customizable payment solutions to the Lynkwell EV software and service platform.

Key Highlights of the Lynkwell-WEX Integration Include:

  • Streamlined Payment Experience: Fleet drivers can authenticate and pay for charging sessions directly from the WEX DriverDash app or with a WEX RFID card, simplifying workflows and minimizing friction.
  • Enterprise-Level Security & Oversight: With Lynkwell’s centralized dashboard, fleet managers gain heightened visibility into charging activity for real-time charge reporting, budget controls, and compliance auditing.
  • Configurable Billing Options: Operators can choose from customizable pricing models –subscription-based charging, per-kWh billing, dynamic rates – allowing flexibility in how they manage and allocate charging costs.
  • Scalable for Growing Fleets: Built to support fleets both small and large, the integration enables seamless onboarding of new sites and consistent payment experiences across multiple geographic locations.

Lynkwell’s comprehensive software and service platform is trusted by many leading organizations such as Green Mountain Power, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and Vermont Electric Power Company because of its robust functionality.

Fleet-Empowering Features of Lynkwell’s Platform Include:

  • Lynkwell’s XLynk Level 2 Charger: 80 Amp Build America, Buy America compliant workhorse with the only lifetime warranty on a commercial EV charger.
  • AutoCharge Depot Charging: No app or RFID cards required - drivers simply plug in, and only authorized vehicles begin charging.
  • Energy Management: Increase efficiency and reduce costs with cloud-based, real-time dynamic energy allocation.
  • Proven Interoperability: Certified integration with OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 tested with over 20 hardware manufacturers.

“The Lynkwell team is thrilled to integrate with WEX, which empowers fleets to seamlessly transition from ICE vehicles to EVs by unifying payment and management solutions across both types within a single platform,” shared Nick Bordeau, vice president of software engineering. “This partnership not only eases the pain points of en route charging through effortless access to extensive public networks and streamlined transaction insights but also minimizes operational complexities, fraud risks, and administrative burdens. Ultimately, this accelerates the shift toward sustainable mobility and helps our customers navigate the evolving energy landscape with confidence."

By cultivating the most comprehensive and integrated suite of solutions, Lynkwell positions itself as the one partner any stakeholder needs to thrive in the EV charging ecosystem.
