Canter Power Systems, GenerX Generators and Midwest Electric and Generators Combine to Form National Residential Services Platform

Canter Power Systems (“Canter”), a Generac Power Pro Premier dealer, and one of the largest independent installers and service providers of residential backup power generators in the U.S., is pleased to announce the acquisitions of GenerX Generators (“GenerX”) and Midwest Electric and Generators (“Midwest”).

Headquartered in Oldsmar, Florida, GenerX is Florida’s leading full-service generator installation and services company. Proudly serving all of Tampa, central and southern Florida across eight branch locations, for over 20 years, GenerX is a trusted partner to more than 22,000 generator customers, while also making more than 12,000 inspection, maintenance and service visits per year.

Based in Elk River, Minnesota, Midwest is the premier installer and service provider to generator customers throughout the Midwest, serving more than 6,000 customers and providing generator installation, inspection, maintenance and repair services across Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota.

Similar to Canter, both GenerX and Midwest are Generac Power Pro Premier dealers and together the combined company’s more than 275 dedicated team members, including more than 175 installation and service technicians, will serve more than 50,000 customers across fifteen states. The transactions expand Canter into the Midwest and significantly bolsters its installation and service capabilities throughout Florida.

GenerX will continue to be led by its Founder and President, Mark Costis, who will also continue to retain an ownership stake in the combined company. “Since its founding, GenerX has upheld a singular commitment to excellence, technical expertise, and quality service to ensure each and every customer’s power stays on and their families stay safe through power outages,” said Costis. “We could not have found a better partner than Canter and I’m incredibly excited to share the news of this amazing new organization that we have created.”

“Through this combination, we will be able to provide customers with faster, more efficient service across an expanded geographic footprint, setting a new benchmark for customer satisfaction and service quality across the residential backup power solutions industry,” said Brian Lopatka, CEO of Canter. “To have the opportunity to partner with the GenerX and Midwest teams is a dream come true for me. This only further solidifies our position as the premier, nation-wide generator installation and service company.”

“It provides me with great pride knowing that the company I founded and built over more than a decade, and our employees and customers will continue to be supported by such a well- rounded organization that is poised for significant growth,” said John Anderson, Midwest’s founder.

“GenerX and Midwest represent transformational acquisitions, providing Canter with market leadership positions in both new generator installation and inspection, maintenance and repair services. Expanding our footprint and field service capabilities are key components of Canter’s value creation plan and Canter’s acquisition strategy will continue to focus on partnering with similar companies in new geographic markets” added Ryan Aprill, a Principal at Rotunda.
