Highview Power Recognized by Fast Company for its Liquid Air, Long-Duration Energy Storage Technology, the CRYOBattery

Highview Power Storage, Inc., a global leader in long-duration energy storage solutions, is pleased to announce that it has received an honorable mention in the Energy category of Fast Company's 2020 World Changing Ideas for its CRYOBattery, a long-duration energy storage technology based on the principle of air liquefaction. Through this award, Fast Company honors businesses, policies, projects, and concepts that are actively engaged and deeply committed to flattening the curve when it comes to the climate crisis, social injustice, or economic inequality.

Highview Power's proprietary CRYOBattery technology utilizes air, which cleaned, cooled, stored as a liquid, then converted back to gas to drive a turbine which produces electricity. It is the only long-duration energy storage solution that is commercially available today that offers multiple gigawatt-hours of storage, is scalable with no size limitations or geographical constraints, and produces zero emissions.

"We are pleased to be recognized by such an esteemed organization for our CRYOBattery technology. This recognition is a testament to the need for long-duration energy storage and our technology in particular, which we believe is a vital piece to building the foundation for a 100% renewable energy future," said Mark Somerset, Director of Business Growth at Highview Power.

"There seems no better time to recognize organizations that are using their ingenuity, resources, and, in some cases, their scale to tackle society's biggest problems," says Stephanie Mehta, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. "Our journalists, under the leadership of senior editor Morgan Clendaniel, have uncovered some of the smartest and most inspiring projects of the year."

Highview Power has also won the Regen Green Energy Award for clean energy innovation, BusinessGreen Magazine's Technology of the Year award, and the Ashden award for energy innovation.
