German solar PV modules manufacturer AE Solar GmbH operates a new facility in Georgia, Europe. The factory is equipped with fully automated production lines and has an annual capacity of 500 MW. The 10,000 m ² facility makes a range of poly and mono PV modules using PERC cells and the European bill of materials in products for the US and EU markets. The product line also includes models with transparent back-sheet, bifacial cells, and Smart Shading Resistant Hot-Spot Free technology.

AE Solar's total annual manufacturing capacity is more than 1 GW and there are plans for expansion in the nearest future. 

The company is planning to open the international training center for solar industry professionals and beginners as the demand for training by AE Solar is increasing. Center will provide training on manufacturing - the use of materials and components, quality check, industry requirements, certification and specifications specifics, as well as training of installation technics and project development steps. Special focus will be on renewable energy overall and the history, so AE Solar creates the AE Solar educational hub to train and qualify solar industry existing and potential workers. The trainees in the center will have the opportunity to be taught by professionals invited from Germany. The facility will also be placed in Georgia and practical studies will be held in the Factory. 

AE Solar is well known for its innovation - The world's first Smart Shading Resistant Hot-spot Free PV module.

The Smart Shading Resistant Hot-Spot Free Modules use bypass diodes between each cell to avoid shading consequences. Technology is implemented in major PV technologies - Poly, Mono, Double Glass, Bi Facial. It makes each cell be protected and bypassed if it is partially or fully shaded significantly reducing power output loss of PV module (tested by Fraunhofer CSP). It has the same effect as 3 bypass diodes in the junction box of standard modules, but many times more effective as for 72 cells there are 72 diodes and for 60 cells there are 60 diodes. It prevents overheating of cells and prolongs generation hours in standard solar farms installation. This technology is simpler than any smart electronics and optimizers used for the same purposes, cheaper, more reliable as consists only by one type of parts under laminated glass and finally gives better output in comparison with any existing large-scale commercialized technology. Available from 260W to 385W range, the AE Smart Hot-Spot Free Modules offer up to 30% more power output compared to standard PV Modules in real conditions.
