3 IN 1 ROOF Passes UL 1703 Testing!

The world's most energy efficient integrated solar roof system is proud to announce recently completing a test plan for UL 1703 approval and is waiting its certified paperwork.

Exactly what is an integrated solar roof system, what is UL 1703 and why is this article news worthy?

By definition, an "integrated solar roof system" has solar cells manufactured into a particular roof covering. So the only question one needs to ask, "Is the solar situated or fixed into the roof covering itself? If the answer is "No" then it is not a truly integrated roofing system, but rather has the solar elements simply placed in between or on top of traditional roofing materials.

Currently the market bears only 3 integrated solar roof systems as defined, 3 IN 1 ROOF, Luma and Tesla. All others (Suntegra, Certainteed, RDS/DOW, etc) cannot answer the question with "Yes".

UL 1703 is a mandated group of tests every high-energy output solar product must pass in order to be rightfully certified and legally sold in the marketplace. Traditional solar panels have been achieving UL 1703 compliance for decades which standardized their component compositions long ago, meaning acquiring certification is no longer a challenge.

On the other hand, integrated solar systems are new to the market, lending quite a different story. All sorts of problems arise when solar cells come in contact with the roof coverings and that explains why this sector of the industry experiences slow growth! In fact, out of the mentioned 3 truly integrated roof systems, only 2 have passed UL 1703 testing and Tesla is not one of those two.

3 IN 1 ROOF is calculated Best-In-Class, slightly edging out LUMA, leaving Tesla far behind in comparable attributes even if one day they earn UL 1703 certification.
