EnergyPal Achieves $30 Million in Solar Projects

EnergyPal, one of North America's largest digital solar companies, celebrates close to three years in business by reaching over $30 million in solar projects - an achievement that continues to drive widespread awareness of the benefits of solar energy and how every solar-powered home truly contributes to the battle on climate change.

EnergyPal owes a lot of these achievements to the unique product offering that the company was built upon - its proprietary online solar recommendation system, which educates customers on the industry and provides each customer with a unique solar solution, all in a short 30-minute timeframe. Keeping the solar buying experience simple and personalized is what inspired the establishment of EnergyPal, and the company actively works to ensure that this process always remains seamless.

"We established EnergyPal as a response to what we felt was broken in the solar industry - the actual discovery, shopping and purchasing phase of implementing solar into a household," says Mackie Hilborn, co-founder and CEO of EnergyPal. "By creating a streamlined process and putting it online, customers are able to shop for solar from start to finish, from the comforts of their own home and with the assistance of our experienced EnergyPal representatives."

The unique, user-friendly EnergyPal digital solar platform is the fastest growing solar platform in North America. The company's approach is personal and different. Once customers reach EnergyPal's website, they go through three simple steps to go solar:

  1. A comprehensive assessment is conducted to pull together customer information.
  2. EnergyPal's proprietary matching algorithm goes to work to create a personalized customer profile. This profile identifies each customer's specific property and energy modeling needs, local partnered installers, and financial options.
  3. A one-of-a-kind recommended solar solution is provided for each customer's home, as well as an equipment breakdown and costs-savings plan based on their solar adoption.

This three-step system is imperative in the solar industry as it is not a "one size fits all" installation. Every home has a different set of possibilities, limitations, and regional guidelines to follow. Sifting through these options on your own can be very time consuming, confusing, and may lead to a poor customer experience. The EnergyPal platform solves these problems for the customer.

Currently, EnergyPal serves customers in nine U.S. states and three Canadian provinces, with plans to expand further in 2019. Since establishing in mid-2016, EnergyPal grew from a team of six to 30 employees and will grow to over 50 employees by the end of this year.

To kick off 2019, EnergyPal announced the opening of their new commercial division, which will assist businesses and commercial properties in making the transition to solar and helping to clean up our planet. Since opening this new division, EnergyPal has closed its first major commercial partnership and are continuing to ramp up efforts to bring more awareness and education of solar energy to North America's business world.
