TECHÉOL Stands Out for its Outstanding Achievements in Canada's Wind Power Industry

TECHÉOL Inc., Matapedia's wind power operations and maintenance company, received the "Operations and Maintenance Outstanding Achievement Award" at the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA)'s Operations and Maintenance Summit held in Toronto on January 30, 2019.

TECHÉOL won the award based on a variety of technical components. In fact, the criteria for which the company qualified stem from its history, its integrity, its ability to adapt in terms of operation and maintenance and its continuous improvement. TECHÉOL was also acknowledge because of the industry's respect for the company' implementation methods and for improving the Canadian wind industry more broadly.

TECHÉOL was founded in 2007 and has proven itself over time with dozens of wind farm owners and operators in North America, including Canada, the United States and Mexico. There were originally 6 technicians; however, the company has grown to now nearly 130 experts who have serviced many wind farms in Canada. The team has also serviced or repaired over 2225 wind turbines on the continent. This is an impressive, remarkable journey for the small Canadianbased maintenance company, which is located in Gaspésie area in Quebec.

TECHÉOL's bid for the award stood out because the high level of internal training quality attracted the attention of the competition's judges. In addition to wind power training, a rigorous health and safety program, which was developed by the Human Resources - HST team, is provided to each new technician. Upon hiring, recruits undergo comprehensive training to master working at heights, safely conducting operations in confined spaces, following proper lock-out / tagout procedures, and properly using and maintaining both personal protective and respiratory health equipment. TECHÉOL ensures the integrity of equipment and that the highest safety standards are met at all times.
