HSGS Awarded Contract to Build Solar Array on Historic Federal Building in Savannah, Georgia

Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS), headquartered in Charleston, SC has just been awarded a contract to engineer, design and build a 300 kilowatt (kW) solar energy system on the roof of the Juliette Gordon Low Federal Building located in the historic district of Savannah, Georgia.

The Juliette Gordon Low Federal Building, famously named after American reformer and founder of the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A, is one of 148 government-owned buildings managed and utilized by the General Services Administration (GSA) Southeast Sunbelt Region. GSA provides centralized procurement for the federal government. GSA's acquisition solutions supply federal purchasers with cost effective, high quality products and services from commercial vendors.

Providing the GSA with reduced operating expenses and increased energy reliability.

HSGS will begin the construction of the 300 kilowatt ( kW) ballasted roof array on the Juliette Gordon Low Federal Building in the Spring of 2019. Col (RET) Dave McNeil , President and CEO of HSGS says, "My team and I are honored to be selected as the most qualified to design and construct this solar array on the historic Juliette Gordon Low Federal Building. This solar array will demonstrate that it is feasible for historically preserved buildings to incorporate renewable energy without impairing their original architecture and design".

HSGS is a veteran-owned business specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of solar PV systems, battery energy systems, and microgrids. Serving the government, commercial/industrial, and utility marketplaces, HSGS's breadth of experience includes projects that span the continental United States as well as overseas.
