Siemens Selects HSGS to Construct 700 kW Solar Array in Murphy, NC

Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) has been awarded a contract from Siemens Government Technologies to design, engineer, and construct a 700 kilowatt (kW) ground mounted solar energy system for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) at Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino and Resort located in Murphy, North Carolina.

Developed by the EBCI, Harrah's Cherokee Casino was the first major casino to open its doors in North Carolina in 1997. Since then, the popularity of Harrah's Cherokee Casino has increased and Harrah's has opened their second casino, Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino and Resort in Murphy, NC (pictured).

This renewable energy project is partially funded by a grant from the US Department of Energy. The power produced by this ground mounted solar array will offset a portion of the energy demand from the casino and hotel as well as two administration buildings. HSGS will begin the construction of Harrah's solar array in the summer of 2018.

HSGS is a veteran-owned business specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of solar PV systems, battery energy systems, and microgrids. Serving the government, commercial/industrial, and utility marketplaces, HSGS's breadth of experience includes projects that span the continental United States as well as overseas.
