EnerSys Exhibits Wide Selection of Reserve Power Solutions at Battcon

EnerSys (NYSE:ENS), the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, will exhibit products from its reserve power offering at Battcon in Nashville, Tennessee, April 22-25, in booth no. 307.

Battcon is a conference and exhibition for companies in the reserve power industry that serve the electrical utilities, telecommunications and critical power markets. The event, which features presentations, panel discussions, seminars and workshops, as well as a trade show, will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center.

EnerSys, a Platinum Sponsor of the event, manufactures a full range of batteries for backup power and energy storage solutions in response to the demanding applications found at electric utilities, outside plants (OSPs) and central offices (COs), and critical power facilities, including systems with an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). These solutions are designed to reduce operating costs, extend service life and limit environmental impact.

"EnerSys has been designing and manufacturing batteries for more than a century," said Dan Roche, UPS marketing manager at EnerSys. "This experience has enabled the company to provide one of the widest selections of standby battery and energy storage solutions in the world. The breadth of our product offering provides a storage solution for almost any application and budget."

Among the reserve power solutions that EnerSys will display at Battcon are PowerSafe batteries, which provide high energy density and long life to withstand a range of challenging operating environments common in electric utility and telecommunications applications, and DataSafe ® batteries, with increased power density for critical power applications.

The PowerSafe battery family includes the PowerSafe DSG battery, featuring quarter-inch positive grids for long discharges that make it particularly suitable for complex-duty cycles found in switchgear applications. Also included is the recently launched PowerSafe ESG battery, providing 187-935 amp-hours (Ah) of capacity range to handle the challenging load profiles and service conditions at utilities. Another solution from this line is the PowerSafe SBS XL battery, which uses Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology to ensure better heat resistance and support for higher rate charging and discharging.

The DataSafe battery line includes the DataSafe ® XE battery, an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) battery that also applies TPPL technology and provides short-duration runtimes of less than five minutes in 20 percent less space than conventional lead acid batteries.

In addition to batteries, EnerSys will exhibit OptiGrid Stored Energy Solutions, a battery-based capacity Energy Storage System (ESS) designed to relieve stress on transmission and distribution networks by satisfying application requirements, such as demand changes, peak shaving, load following and Volt-Ampere Reactive (VAR) support.

The exhibit will also feature a selection of enclosures, including thermally managed VaultFlex outdoor enclosures; SiteFlex outdoor enclosures, which also feature thermal management; and FlexSure outdoor enclosures. All three enclosures are modular to provide flexibility and expandability.
