CyboEnergy Awarded Four U.S. Patents for Solar Inverter Technologies that Enable Grid and DC Source Flexibility

CyboEnergy, Inc. (Rancho Cordova, CA), the developer of the world's first solar power Mini-Inverter that possesses the key merits of both central inverters and microinverters, announced that the company has recently been awarded four U.S. patents that enhance its patent portfolio in inverter technologies in renewable energy industry. The awarded patents include: US Patent 9,899841, "Smart and Grid-Flexible Power Inverters", US Patent 9,906,038, "Smart Renewable Power Generation System with Grid and DC Source Flexibility", and US Patent 9,871,379, "Smart Microgrids and Dual-Output Off-Grid Power Inverters with DC Source Flexibility."

CyboEnergy CEO, Dr. George Cheng said, "The solar industry has reached a critical stage facing 2 major obstacles. In areas such as Hawaii, California, United Kingdom, and Southern Europe where the electric grid has reached its capacity limitations, on-grid solar systems are no longer welcomed. At the same time, there are about 2 billion people in the world having no electricity. In both situations, off-grid solar systems should have good market opportunities. The solar inverter products built based on our IP can serve those needs well."

The following diagram illustrates an off-grid solar system for heating and cooling with two dual-output off-grid solar power inverters, where a master unit is daisy-chained with a slave unit to form a 2.4KW system. In off-grid mode 1 (left side), the system can harvest solar energy from the solar panels and send power to an electric water heater or area heater. In off-grid mode 2 (right side), the system can run an Inverter-Air-Conditioner (IAC) and lights, fans, phone chargers, etc.

The technologies in CyboEnergy's issued patents have been implemented in the company's CyboInverter product family, where they have been installed around the world. The following table lists some of the products and their applications.

The products include the following patented features and benefits: (1) multiple input channel design offering seamless integration of renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, battery, fuel-cell, and hydro; (2) operate in either on-grid or off-grid modes; (3) ability to power electric water heaters or Inverter-Air-Conditioners (IAC) off the grid; (4) single or multi-pack design enabling scalable on/off-grid or off-grid solar systems with easy installation; and (5) ability to operate off the grid without any batteries.

In addition to manufacturing and servicing CyboInverters on the global market, CyboEnergy also offers technology licensing, assembly, or private label opportunities to its strategic partners for certain market segments and geographical areas.
