Former Johnson Controls Global VP Hired to Run Trachte LLC

Jim Gross has been named President and Chief Executive Officer at Trachte LLC, an Oregon, Wisconsin- ­based manufacturer of heavy- ­duty preassembled and modularized control buildings.      

Trachte custom buildings house critical electrical components that control and protect electrical infrastructure, such as transmission & distribution substations. Trachte buildings are also used extensively in industrial applications to house equipment such as switchgear, motor controls, and pumps. Trachte serves utilities, OEMs and other channel partners in the power transmission, data center, energy, chemical processing and general industrial markets.  

Gross joins Trachte from Johnson Controls, Inc., Milwaukee, where he was Vice President of Global Product Management, providing strategic and tactical direction to approximately 350 global product managers across 22 JCI divisions worldwide.      

Prior to his global position with Johnson Controls, Gross was with Brady Corporation, Milwaukee, where he had P&L responsibility for business units ranging from $25 million to $400 million in annual sales and 150 to 1,400 employees, including serving as Vice President and General Manager of Brady North America.  

At Trachte, Gross will oversee a growing operation of more than 200 employees that - while approaching 100 years in the industry - continues to seek and develop advanced technologies in the design and construction of its buildings.   According to Gross, these advancements satisfy the diverse and challenging requirements of its customers, who rely on Trachte structures to provide shelter and protection for sensitive electronics and controls in increasingly demanding environments.
