Vivint Solar CEO David Bywater to Testify Before USTR on Solar Trade Case

Vivint Solar, Inc. (NYSE: VSLR), a leading full-service residential solar provider, announced its CEO David Bywater will testify at a public hearing held by the United States Trade Representative (USTR) regarding the Section 201 solar trade case. Bywater is scheduled to speak on December 6, 2017 in Washington, D.C. alongside solar industry leaders on a panel organized by the Solar Energy Industries Association.

Bywater will deliver testimony on the importance of protecting American jobs and supporting continued economic growth in the residential solar industry by rejecting the proposed trade relief. His testimony will emphasize that he believes tariffs and government intervention will harm the solar industry.

"The solar industry is an economic engine that employs more than 260,000 American workers today according to the Solar Energy Industry Association," Bywater said. "I look forward to testifying before the USTR and encouraging the Trump administration to put the American worker first."

The USTR is holding this public hearing to help inform the decision of President Trump, who received a formal remedy recommendation from the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) on November 13 and must make a final determination in the case in January 2018.
