Sunnova Expresses Support of Solutions for Energy Resiliency in Puerto Rico Following Senate Committee Hearing

Sunnova Energy Corporation Chief Executive Officer William J. (John) Berger issued the statement below in response to the hearing on Hurricane Recovery Efforts in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to review the ongoing recovery efforts on the ground as well as "efforts to rebuild the electric grids on those islands in a smarter, more resilient manner." As the largest residential solar provider on the island, Berger expressed the following:

"We are glad to hear that the Senate Committee is looking into resilient energy solutions for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands - including distributed renewable systems," Berger said. "Given that many of our customer's residential solar systems in Puerto Rico fared better than other energy sources on the island, distributed solar continues to prove its viability on the island. We look forward to working with Congress, the Trump Administration, and Puerto Rico to build energy infrastructure that is more reliable, flexible, affordable and resilient - and which includes solutions with solar-plus-battery-storage. We will continue to advocate for policies that will bring the necessary private investments into Puerto Rico to make this vision a reality."
