Nearly 100 MW of Wind Power Commissioned in the United Kingdom

Pursuing its expansion in the United Kingdom, EDF Energies Nouvelles is announcing the commissioning of the Corriemoillie (47.5 MW), the Beck Burn (31 MW) and the Pearie Law (19.2 MW) wind farms, by its local subsidiary EDF Energy Renewables, a joint venture with EDF Energy.

These new wind farms are contributing to the EDF Group's CAP 2030 which aims at doubling its renewable energy capacity by 2030.

The Corriemoillie and Pearie Law wind farms are respectively located in the regions of the Highlands and West Lothian in Scotland.

  • With 17 turbines, the Corriemoillie wind farm (47.5 MW) provides enough power for the equivalent of 28,900 Scottish homes each year.
  • The Pearie Law wind farm (19.2 MW) has 6 turbines. Its power production is sufficient to meet the annual electricity needs of 11,600 local homes.

The Beck Burn wind farm is located in north-east England next to the Scottish border, in the county of Cumbria.

  • The Beck Burn wind farm (31 MW) is comprised of 9 turbines. Its electricity generation meets the annual energy needs of around 18,800 English homes.

Today, EDF Energy Renewables has wind energy of around 700 MW in gross installed capacity in the United Kingdom, including 62 MW from offshore.
