ZapGo Named as Finalist for 2017 Red Herring Europe Top 100 Company Award

ZapGo Ltd has been selected as a finalist for the 2017 Red Herring Europe Top 100 Company Award, a prestigious list honoring the year's most promising private technology ventures from the European business region. ZapGo, along with the other finalists, has been invited to present its technology at the Red Herring Europe Forum in Amsterdam on April 24-26, 2017 and the winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony on the evening of April 26.

Stephen Voller, CEO and founder of ZapGo, said, "We are honored to be selected as a finalist for the prestigious Red Herring Europe Top 100 Company Award, especially following our selection last year as a winner of the 2016 Red Herring Global Top 100 Company Award and the 2016 Red Herring Europe Top 100 Company Award. Our selection reinforces our belief that our groundbreaking Carbon-Ionâ„¢ cell technology represents a significant breakthrough in current energy storage methods for the European market and worldwide."

At the event, ZapGo will discuss the benefits of the Zap&Go Carbon-Ionâ„¢ cell composed of carbon, aluminum and water-based aqueous materials-properties that are completely safe, recyclable and quick charging. Unlike Li-ion, which is a battery and works by an electrochemical reaction, the Zap&Go C-Ion cells can last through more charge/discharge cycles because there is no electrochemistry to wear out and be fully charged in under five minutes. As such, the Zap&Go Carbon-Ionâ„¢ cell has the potential to replace lithium-ion batteries in consumer applications and is scheduled to be embedded in several products on the market by the end of 2017.

The Red Herring editorial team selected the most innovative companies from a pool of hundreds from across Europe. The nominees were evaluated on 20 main quantitative and qualitative criteria, which include disruptive impact, market footprint, proof of concept, financial performance, technology innovation, social value, quality of management, execution of strategy and integration into their respective industries. This unique assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the track record and standing of a company. During the months leading up to the announcement, Red Herring reviewed more than 1,200 companies in the telecommunications, security, cloud, software, hardware, biotech, mobile and other industries that completed their submissions to qualify for the award.
