According to the preliminary statistics of Huaneng Power International, Inc., for the first quarter of 2017, the total power generation by its power plants within China amounted to 95.988 billion kWh on consolidated basis, representing an increase of 24.89% over the same period last year, and the total electricity sold by Huaneng Power amounted to 90.496 billion kWh, representing an increase of 24.44% over the same period last year. For the first quarter of 2017, the average on-grid electricity settlement price for its power plants within China amounted to RMB 405.97 per MWh, representing an increase of 1.02% over the same period last year.

The increase in the Huaneng Power's power generation for the first quarter of 2017 was mainly attributable to the following reasons: (1) the acquisition of power assets in Heilongjiang, Jilin and Shandong areas was conducive to the substantial increase in the level of power generation; and (2) Huaneng Power's thermal power generation in central China and eastern China rose year-on-year.
