Advocates, Industry and Policymakers Gather in DC March 8 to Support A Strong Sustainable Energy Future and Honor IREC's Energy Heroes

National leaders in the clean energy industry, elected officials, policymakers and advocates will gather in Washington, DC March 8 in support of a strong sustainable energy future, to acknowledge our collective milestones in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, and to present IREC's 2017 Energy Hero Awards.

Three Energy Hero Awards will be presented at an evening reception, including to U.S. Senator Ed Markey-MA and Congressman Paul Tonko-NY. The third award will celebrate the trailblazing accomplishments of IREC's very own Chief Energy Hero, Jane Weissman, who in 2016 stepped down as president/CEO from IREC after 22 years of legendary leadership.

Attendees will celebrate our successes, the transformative leadership that shaped today's clean energy landscape, and our continued commitment to a strong sustainable future.

The event begins at 5:30 pm at the Pew Charitable Trusts Conference Center, 901 E Street NW, Washington, DC, with the awards program beginning at 7pm.
