Business Network for Offshore Wind Selects Vitamin as Agency of Record

Vitamin ®, the web and public relations agency, announced that it has been selected as agency of record (AOR) for the Business Network for Offshore Wind ("the Network") following a competitive RFP process. As the only non-profit organization in the United States solely focused on the creation of an offshore wind industry, the Network's aim is for the United States to have a strong offshore wind supply chain that has a leading role in the evolving global offshore wind industry. As AOR, Vitamin will develop and execute an integrated marketing-communications strategy for the organization and its marquee event, the 2017 International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum (IPF), which is the #1 technical conference for offshore wind in the U.S.

"Things have changed dramatically in offshore wind. With the recent commitments to buy a combined 4.25 GW of offshore wind energy in Maryland, Massachusetts and New York, we have an attractive market here in the U.S. that will generate tens of thousands of jobs," says Liz Burdock, executive director of the Network. "The investment in wind energy is expected to accelerate to $300B in 2020 - and our goal is to fuel that growth by connecting U.S. businesses that can develop a domestic supply chain. We are confident in Vitamin's ability to elevate awareness of our growing U.S. market, our organization's mission and our major annual event, the IPF."

"Offshore wind is a burgeoning market in the U.S. and while the cost savings of offshore wind are now proven in Europe, our country is still in the early stages of educating the market on its many benefits," said Amanda Karfakis, president and CEO of Vitamin. "It's an important time for the offshore wind industry domestically and Vitamin is looking forward to positioning the Network as the non-profit leader in U.S. offshore wind."

Vitamin maintains vertical expertise in partnering with non-profits as well as businesses involved in energy, economic development and water-centric commerce, including Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation, Baltimore Water Taxi, Plank Industries, Maryland Environmental Service and others.
