High-quality training doesn't just happen. IREC needs your help to ensure that industry-vetted standards are upheld by our clean industry's training providers. Become an IREC Assessor!
 
The Assessor reviews a candidate's application for IREC accreditation or certification against the IREC Standard. This process involves expert-level knowledge of renewable energy technology, as well as instructional design and delivery. Quality assurance experience is a plus.
 
Time Commitment
This is a contract position. Our assessors have full or part time jobs or are retired. IREC Registered Assessors are required to participate in an initial two-hour online training session and online training each quarter.  
 
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Experience in a clean energy-related discipline such as (but not limited to):  Energy Efficiency and Weatherization, Photovoltaic Systems, Solar Thermal & Thermal Electric Systems, Wind Power Systems, Biomass Technologies, Hydrogen Production, Storage and Utilization, Fuel Cell Systems, Microturbine Systems, or Alternative Fuel Vehicle Technologies. Currently our greatest need is for a PV assessor, but other applicants are encouraged.
  • Exceptional organizational and evaluation skills; attention to detail and analysis skills.
  • Professional communication skills (oral, written and listening).
  • Proven self-starter and ability to keep to a timeline.
  • Experience with quality assessment programs a plus.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a clean energy technology field.
  • Experience with instructional design and knowledge of curriculum development methods is strongly desired
