Waste Methane-to-Energy Company, Ener-Core Wins Clean Energy Award

Ener-Core, Inc., the world’s only provider of Power Oxidation technology and equipment that generates clean power from low-quality waste gases from a wide variety of industries, has won the 2014 New Economy Award for Best Air and Environment Solutions which recognizes forerunners in the clean tech and renewable energy sectors.

“We are honored to accept this award and pleased to be recognized for our work in establishing a solution to the world’s methane pollution problem,” said Ener-Core CEO Alain Castro. “Ener-Core’s Power Oxidizer attacks air pollution at the source by turning low-quality methane into clean, base-load energy. Our solution empowers our customers to create significant operating efficiencies where they would otherwise find capital loss due to costly environmental regulations. We’re the first to develop this type of technology and we may just be the first truly profitable, ‘always on’ source of clean energy, and the market is starting to take notice.   Just last week, Pacific Ethanol entered into a sizable contract with Dresser-Rand for two 1.75MW gas turbines which utilizes Ener-Core technology to convert their waste gases into on-site power for the ethanol plant.”

"Ener-Core stuck out head and shoulders above other nominees," noted Michael Wearing of the New Economy. "It provides a compelling value proposition to industrial companies as it curbs greenhouse gas emissions while enabling an attractive return on investment.  Ener-Core’s solution has already been deployed commercially, and the company is now ramping up with established multi-national corporate partners, signaling tremendous progress in addressing a critical issue that industry faces in eliminating one of the worst contributors to climate change.”
