Rapid shutdown transmitter for integrated NEC 2017 compliance Tigo’s new RSS (Rapid Shutdown System) Transmitter completes its cost-e ective rapid shutdown system architecture when paired
with TS4-F (Fire Safety). Tigo’s RSS Transmitter accompanies the UL-certi ed TS4-F (integrated) and TS4-R-F (retro tted/add-on) solutions. e RSS Transmitter sends a signal to the TS4-F units to keep their PV modules connected while powered on and supplying energy. TS4-F units automatically enter rapid shutdown mode when the RSS Transmitter
is switched o and resume energy production
when power is restored to the RSS Transmitter. is solution complies with U.S. National Electric Code (NEC) article 690.12 speci cations for 2014 and 2017 and supports the SunSpec-de ned signaling for rapid shutdown with power-line communication (PLC). e TS4-F units and RSS Transmitter require no commissioning process.

the new Series 6 solar modules manufactured by
First Solar. e parts’ purpose-driven design makes them the only fasteners o ering a complete wire management solution. e Series 6 RPC Hanger can be mounted with one hand. RPC stands for Ratchet P-Clamp, HellermannTyton’s proprietary cable clamp that dynamically adjusts to di erent bundle sizes, which was released in 2016. A steel mounting hanger tolerates high torque and is treated to resist chemicals. e Series 6 Fir Tree Fastener combines an engineered r tree with an o set and Solar Tie in a one- piece solution. Designed with single-axis trackers in mind,
it demonstrates extraction resistance, even under movement. It can be pre-installed while modules
are still on the pallet. Both products are made from high-impact modi ed, heat-resistant, UV-stabilized material that withstands UV exposure, chemicals, and temperature extremes. No metal comes in contact with wires, so there is no potential for electrical faults caused by sharp, metal fasteners.

Universal fault annunciator
EES delivers its universal fault annunciator series “USM” with the free of charge Modbus TCP implementation. For communication with superior or inferior third party systems in the control or process level, the annunciator provides one or two interface cards, while the latter is on surcharge providing also Modbus RTU, if needed. e device operates always as a Modbus slave (passive Modbus) with a Modbus address between 1 and
255. If Modbus TCP is used, the IP address of the communication partner (Modbus master) or for Modbus RTU the settings for the serial interface must be set in the parameterization which is accessible on the device through a webserver. en data is accessible via Modbus-registers or -coils. To retrieve the respective information any 3rd party tool or device can be taken. EES o ers a de ned data structure as reports were e.g. various information about the inputs, collective reports, horn conditions or buttons pushed and all other options i.e. relay states can be read out. To round o the exibility with the USM from EES, the protocols can be mixed together and by this form a gateway for maximum exibility needs. Individual inputs can be set by Modbus TCP while forwarding the whole process image on IEC 61850.
