Utility-scale DC-to-DC converter
The UL 1741-listed DPS-500 is a 500kW DC- DC converter designed for utility-scale solar plus storage applications and has received the IEC 62109 certification from TUV. Up
to 8 DPS units can be paralleled together and it works with all central inverters.
The DPS-500 is also available as part of
a fully integrated energy storage system from Dynapower, complete with battery enclosure, thermal management, site controls, and batteries. Multiple integrated systems can be paralleled together.

LS Energy Solutions now offers the PowerBRiC as an outdoor rated Central inverter. The 1MW Central BRiC includes 8 PowerBRiCs, AC and DC protection, and has built in redundancy; if one 140kVA PowerBRiC module goes down, the Central BRiC automatically derates by this amount to achieve highest possible availability. Its patented paralleling capability also allows the Central BRiC
to be flexible on the DC side, users
can optimize battery configuration
by choosing from 1, 2, 4, or 8 separate
DC connections. Even though the
1MW configuration is a standard
offering, because of the flexibility of the PowerBRiC, LS Energy Solutions can offer other power sizes and configurations, both larger and smaller than 1MW.

ESS fuses
SIBA Fuses new 1500VDC 63-2000A ESS Fuses have been specifically designed and tested for the stringent requirements of ESS and have been utilized by large OEM’s globally. The fault conditions to the converter’s DC input side have very high short circuit current capability and very low inductance of the fault loop, yielding low L/R time constants <3ms. On the
AC side of the inverter SIBA is capable of meeting voltage applications up to 40.5kV with for bus protection, capacitor filters, PT transformers step-up transformers (SSK fuses specific for wind, solar, and energy storage applications) and switchgear with medium/high voltage fuses.
