Secretary Granholm, Mayors, and Community Representatives Discuss Nationwide Effort to Fast-Track Residential Solar Installations

On Thursday, July 15, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will host a virtual roundtable with elected officials and solar panel installers to discuss the nationwide launch of Solar Automated Permit Processing (SolarAPP+)—a tool developed by the DOE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory that allows local governments to instantly approve rooftop installation permits.

The participants will discuss the cost savings and the key role SolarAPP+ plays in achieving the rapid, equitable deployment of solar energy.
