Power inlet connector

Anderson Power Products (APP) introduces the Saf-D-Grid 300, designed specifically for single-phase AC applications requiring higher voltages, smaller size, and expanded current carrying capability. Saf-D-Grid 300 uses a silver-plated, pure copper contact system and durable ther-moplastic insulators. Configurations allow up to 30A and 300V within the same panel cutout as IEC 60320 C13 / C14 connectors.

Features include separate mechanical keys for 10A and 20A configurations which prevent acci-dental overloading of wires not rated to carry the current. A future 30A key expands the power handing capabilities to 140% of comparably sized IEC connectors, in a size 80% smaller than NEMA connectors with similar power handling capabilities.

Saf-D-Grid 300 has a maximum operating temperature of 80ËšC (176°F), making Saf-D-Grid a solution for power supplies where the hot exhaust is directed onto the power inlet connector. The receptacle housing is constructed of high temperature glass-filled nylon allowing it to oper-ate in temperatures of up to 120ËšC (248°F).

Both the plug and receptacle side are touch-safe to maximize operator safety at hazardous volt-ages. Universal touch safety also enables the simplicity of using the same receptacle for both power inlet and outlet connections. The integral latch on the plug housing prevents accidental disconnect of power without the need for added accessories. An optional ground-tied shield is available to minimize the EMI profile of power supplies.
