Benefits to Renewable Energy business owners
For quali ed businesses, a captive program would provide the following bene ts:
• Underwriting pro ts (up to 60% of paid premium) that directly enhance a company’s P&L
• More control over underwriting decisions
• A market-competitive insurance rate
• Safety and Claims Management services
that reduce claims frequency, and drive
costs to the lowest possible level
• Comprehensive coverage designed to
meet the insurance requirements of contracts (for Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Coverage)
• Full insurance and reinsurance protection from an “A+ XV” Rated insurance carrier
• Greater control over, and involvement in, how claims are managed
• e lowest net cost for insurance, which provides a competitive advantage in the business marketplace
For many companies, a captive insurance program can o er a much greater degree of control over insurance costs, and provide
a real pro t opportunity. Once you have a basic understanding of how a captive works, it’s easy to see how it could be a good t for your insurance and business needs.

Unique multi-use lighting
and energy solution
Elevate Technologies Corp., developer and manufacturer of smart, versatile, and highly-reliable energy solutions using sustainable and socially aware practices, is proud
to introduce the InteliEnergy Lamp lighting and energy solution for small space living. A solution for most any small-space living situation where a multi-use light and power source is needed, the e cient, re-chargeable, InteliEnergy Lamp works as a table lamp, as a re-locatable wall-mounted xture, and even as a ashlight delivering illumination and serving as a smart power source for USB device charging. e InteliEnergy Lamp is versatile and reliable, o ering numerous smart features for compact, e cient living. e InteliEnergy is even solar-panel
ready, for additional sustainable and e cient living. With patented power processing, rechargeable LFP batteries, long lasting LEDs, and durable materials throughout, the InteliEnergy Lamp will reliably light any space and help keep cell phones, tablets, cameras, and other USB devices powered for daily use. e lamp's microprocessors auto- sense battery type (as well as solar panel size and power, if applicable), and applies the correct charge sequence for fast, e cient, and safe, optimized charging. e InteliEnergy Lamp never over-charges or over-depletes batteries. Built-in timer and charge status LEDs provide an extra level of convenience.

Surface-mount intelligent
low-power modules
STMicroelectronics has added ve space-saving surface- mount intelligent power modules (IPM) to its SLLIMM- nano family, giving the choice of IGBT or MOSFET outputs for in-motor or other space-constrained drives all the way from very low power ratings up to 100W. e new modules deliver high conduction and switching e ciency, especially in hard-switching circuits at frequencies up to 20kHz. e integrated gate-driver circuitry is engineered to minimize electromagnetic emissions (EMI) by managing switching voltage and current slopes (dV/dt, di/dt). e thermally e cient package enhances reliability and allows heatsink-free design, while 2.7mm creepage and 2.0mm clearance ensure safety isolation within the compact dual-
inline SMD footprint. e module pin con guration
is optimized to simplify circuit-board layout. Extra features integrated alongside the gate driver and 500V MOSFET or 600V IGBT/freewheel-diode array include an uncommitted operational ampli er and a comparator that let designers implement advanced current sensing and over-current protection with minimal external components. Smart shutdown with high-speed fault detection, interlocking, and under-voltage lockout are
all built-in, and integrated bootstrap diodes simplify powering the module’s gate-control circuitry. STMicroelectronics | www.st.com/ipm
Energy e icient process control
e EFC 3600 variable frequency drive (VFD) by Bosch
Rexroth improves the process control through integrated PID controllers, as well as through a sequence control system with eight steps. Due to its high intermittent overload capacity of up to 200%, as well as the high initial torque of up to 150%, the EFC 3600 can be used for a wide range of applications. e freely scalable V/Hz characteristic allows load-dependent adjustment of the voltage/frequency curve, which ensures a long motor service life. e EFC 3600 can be connected to other automation topologies via optional Modbus or PROFIBUS eldbus interfaces, or via digital and analog inputs and outputs. e EFC 3600 is o ered from 400W to 4KW (0.5hp to 5hp). Due to the integrated brake chopper and mains lter, additional peripheral devices are not required. e simple program structure and easy parameter input provide quick commissioning and start-up without the need for a PC. Its compact design enables gapless side-by-side and space-saving installation. Cooling fans are only required for devices with performance level 1.5kW (2hp) and higher, and can be easily accessed without requiring tools for maintenance. e EFC 3600 complements Rexroth’s frequency converter series Fe and Fv, which cover the performance spectrum up to 90kW (125hp). e EFC 3600 complies with the EMC directives for industrial applications.

New energy reliability service
Pyxis Energy has partnered with Generac Power Systems Inc. to bring environmentally friendly, automated generator solutions to homes and businesses. e company has launched their new product Alternative Market Power or AMP, an innovative reliability service that aims to keep their customers’ energy
grid independent. No longer will homeowners and businesses have to worry about failing utility infrastructure, the increasing number of natural disasters or the threat of cyber terrorism shutting down the power grid. All that’s required for AMP customers is a low monthly reliability fee and an electric and gas broker relationship with Pyxis Energy. AMP generators are environmentally friendly and EPA-certi ed for non-emergency use due to advancements in engine technology. e generators, fueled by natural gas or liquid propane, can run without restriction, and will start automatically to provide back-up power during power outages. Occasionally, Pyxis Energy will remotely dispatch the generator to protect against electrical grid instability or to o set extreme market conditions.
Pyxis Energy retains ownership of generator and associated micro-grid hardware for the term of the customer agreement. AMP generators are engineered and built in the USA and installed by locally owned and licensed Generac dealers. Generators
are monitored in real-time, and should any issue occur, a local Generac dealer is dispatched. All generators are maintained
and serviced according to Generac guidelines or better, which maximizes the useful life of the hardware and its availability. Pyxis Energy | www.pyxisenergy.com
