Sage Energy Consulting, a leader in comprehensive sustainable energy planning, announced that Megan Dawe is joining their team as a Senior Energy Data Analyst. Megan brings experience in energy efficiency, air quality, and energy data analysis to Sage's work to help businesses, public agencies, and schools save money with renewable energy. She will join in assessing the cost-effectiveness of proposed measures.

"Reopening commercial and public buildings during the pandemic, with enhanced indoor air flow to help stop coronavirus transmission, poses an fascinating environmental engineering challenge," Dawe said. "Interest is as high as ever in saving energy and money with renewables and efficiency. So we're looking at solutions to minimize infection risk while maximizing efficiency, with usage patterns that are all over the map. I'm happy to join Sage and be able to offer clients these insights."

Dawe joins the Sage team from Carbon Lighthouse, Inc., where she was a Quantitative Research Engineer. She led energy savings analysis and model development for energy efficiency opportunities in commercial buildings with expected savings close to a million dollars in the first year.

She previously analyzed outdoor and indoor air quality during the California wildfires as a graduate student researcher at the Center for the Built Environment. There she also studied thermal comfort in radiant buildings based on over 500 occupant surveys. 

Before her graduate work, Dawe spent four years at TRC Companies in Oakland, finishing as Associate Project Manager and contributing to cost effectiveness analyses for the development of building energy codes, including California Title 24 and Santa Monica Zero Net Energy residential codes. She researched trends in commercial Zero Net Energy buildings, and conducted technical review for advanced residential and multifamily utility programs.

She holds an MS in Architecture, with a focus in Building Science and Technology from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was awarded the Eric Thor Andresen Memorial Scholarship for 2018. She obtained her BS in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with highest honors and was two-year captain of the women's lacrosse team. She is a certified LEED Green Associate.
