Nexamp captures NECEC Award for Customer Acquisition Strategy During Pandemic

Nexamp, a clean energy innovator and leader in de-carbonization, has been named by the Northeast Clean Energy Council (NECEC) as winner of the Customer Acquisition Award in the Back to Work Challenge, an initiative launched to highlight innovative projects from clean energy organizations that successfully adapted their business practices amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Nexamp won the category for its creative approach to using digital tools and platforms to meet with customers as restrictions on traditional methods increased throughout the spring and summer.

"There is no doubt that companies have had to adapt to new ways of communicating and connecting with customers during these unprecedented times," said Allan Telio, Senior Vice President of Community Solar, Nexamp. "As a company that prioritizes personal connections and relationships, Nexamp has a rich history of hosting community meetings, attending events and working directly with customers and partners to educate them on clean energy solutions. Fortunately, technology today has made it easier to do this virtually, and we have embraced a number of platforms to remain just as connected to each of our audiences."

As the pandemic worsened, Nexamp began working more closely with local leaders, non-profits and other groups to promote and host interactive virtual meetings, enabling prospective customers to learn more about how community solar works and answering questions about the program. Nexamp also embraced digital technology to enhance the planning and permitting process, deploying drones for live virtual tours of construction sites, leveraging online land databases and satellite imagery for research, and remotely participating in local board meetings.

NECEC hosted the Back to Work Challenge awards ceremony online and cited the continued growth of the clean energy industry as evidence that the region remains focused on promoting and adopting sustainable solutions needed to ensure a healthy future for the next generations. In a keynote address, former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick highlighted the many ways that the region is leading in climate-related achievements, including clean energy job growth, energy efficiency and de-carbonization initiatives.

"As the Back to Work Challenge Customer Acquisition Award winner, Nexamp pivoted quickly to our new virtual reality by using digital tools to engage with customers despite the pandemic," said NECEC President Peter Rothstein. "We applaud Nexamp's innovative work to adapt to challenges posed by the ongoing crisis and form new relationships with clean energy customers that will last well beyond the COVID era."

Nexamp also was named as runner-up for the On-Premises Project Construction & Installation Award, recognizing the company's outstanding efforts in ensuring a safe construction environment for employees and contractors by developing and implementing strict COVID-19 protocols such as social distancing, enhanced PPE, personal hygiene, daily logs, online screening apps and more.
