ACORE Statement on Senate Hearing to Consider FERC Nominees

Following is a statement from Gregory Wetstone, President and CEO of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), in advance of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources hearing to consider the nominations of Allison Clements and Mark Christie to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC):

"We're looking forward to hearing the nominees' positions today on the power market and transmission planning reforms necessary to unlock the potential of renewable energy and meet our climate imperatives. As we said in July, President Trump's nomination of both Allison Clements and Mark Christie was a welcome development for our sector, and FERC is best positioned to accomplish its mission of 'ensuring reliable, efficient and sustainable energy' when it has a full complement of five commissioners.
