Grease processing aid

Elevance Renewable Sciences, Inc. announces the commercial availability of Elevance Concert GC-350, a grease processing aid that will be distributed in North America by Acme-Hardesty, Co., one of the largest distributors of related renewable products. Elevance Concert GC-350 addresses the time-intensive process involved in complex lithium grease manufacturing, enabling producers of complex greases to reduce the total process time per batch by 25% to 35%. It’s now possible to not only increase the renewable content in the formula, but also to improve the solubility of the soap thickener (while maintaining current grease yields per batch).

Typical complex grease thickening systems consist of lithium salts of short to mid-chain diacids and 12-HSA. When Elevance Concert GC-350 is added, lithium salts of long-chain C-18+ dibasic materials are incorporated into the thickener, which improves process at lower temperatures. Blending easily into existing formulas due to low melt point, the grease processing aid also offers a low-treat rate of 0.5% to 2.0% and easy-to-handle pastilles. Ideal for a variety of applications, including for wind turbines, this grease processing aid is made possible due to Elevance’s Inherent technology, which enables novel grease architectures that result in improved performance.
