Arc-fault protection

Siemens and Enphase have partnered to provide best-in-class, arc-fault protection for solar applications. The solution is built on Siemens’ recognized arc-fault protection technology to provide over-current and short-circuit protection to branch circuits, in combination with Enphase’s Fourth Generation microinverter technology. The safety, ease of installation, and productivity benefits of AC-based, microinverter systems can now benefit from a convenient, plug-in solution that provides arc-fault protection—including protection to downstream branch-circuit wiring, cord sets, and power supply cords against the unwanted effects of arcing. This combined offering addresses the latest updates in the 2014 NEC requiring protection of all PV circuits (NEC 2014 705.12(D)6).
