Zelestra Expands US Partnership with Meta through 180 MWdc Palmera Solar PPA in Texas

Meta and Zelestra, a global, multi-technology, customer-focused renewable energy company, announced an expansion of their energy collaboration with a new power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 180 MWdc (140 MWac) Palmera solar plant in Freestone County, Texas. The announcement builds on major construction and operational milestones across the partnership portfolio. Zelestra recently began construction on the 176 MWdc Skull Creek Solar Plant in Anderson County, Texas, and the 200 MWdc Reclamation Solar Project in Gibson County, Indiana, both backed by Meta PPAs.

Together, the projects are expected to support 400 jobs at peak construction and will join the 81 MWdc Jasper County Solar Project in Indiana, which recently reached full commercial operation as the first project delivered under the collaboration.

Palmera will help support Meta’s goal of adding new renewable generation to the grid while matching its operations with 100% clean energy. Zelestra and Meta now have PPAs covering approximately 1.4 GWdc of solar capacity across eight US projects, all expected to be operational by 2028.

The projects in construction will deliver tangible economic and environmental benefits in their local communities. At peak construction, the Skull Creek solar plant is expected to support approximately 200 jobs and generate an estimated $8.2 million in local economic impact in Anderson County, Texas. The project will include approximately 400,000 bifacial solar modules. McCarthy Building Companies (McCarthy) has been appointed as lead EPC contractor for Skull Creek.

In Gibson County, Indiana, the Reclamation solar project is expected to support approximately 200 jobs at peak construction on land reclaimed from former coal mining operations. The project will install approximately 325,000 US-made bifacial modules while supporting soil restoration, native vegetation growth and regional biodiversity enhancement. Qcells USA Corp. (Qcells) has been appointed as the solar module and EPC provider.

PowerBank Announces Safe Harbor of 30 MW and 31 MWh of Distributed Solar and Energy Storage Projects

PowerBank Corporation (NASDAQ: PBK) (Cboe CA: PBK) (FSE: 103) ("PowerBank" or the "Company"), a vertically integrated independent North American energy company, is pleased to announce the execution of equipment procurement agreements for 8 distributed solar and energy storage projects (the "Projects") across New York and Pennsylvania through its wholly owned subsidiary Abundant Solar Power Inc. The Projects, once financed, constructed and operational, are expected to bring approximately 30 MW DC of solar and 31 MWh of energy storage to the United States. This procurement is expected to enable the Projects to remain eligible for United States federal Investment Tax Credits for energy projects under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025. Physical work on the procured equipment is expected to safe harbor the Projects by through the IRS Physical Work Test prior to the July 4, 2026 deadline under the United States One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

This announcement follows the Safe Harbour of an additional 15 solar and energy projects in New York State. PowerBank has now ensured that 23 solar and energy storage projects, with a combined total of 97 MW DC and 42 MWh, are expected to remain eligible for the United States federal Investment Tax Credits.

The value of the Investment Tax Credits associated with the Projects being harbored safely through this procurement is estimated at $29.7 million USD, while the total construction value of the portfolio is estimated at $74.3 million USD. 

PowerBank has the option to continue as the owner on some or all of the Projects under its expanding portfolio as an Independent Power Producer, and intends on delivering the full EPC scope for the Projects whether it retains ownership or not.

The Company has leveraged its strong relationships with Tier 1 suppliers to secure the major equipment order of transformers necessary for the Projects. Subject to the receipt of permits and financing, commercial operation of the 8 projects is expected to occur over the next several years.

Investment Tax Credits have been available for solar projects since 2006, providing a 30% tax credit for commercial solar installations that meet specific requirements, with opportunities for ITC bonus adders. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law on July 4, 2025, specifies that the Section 48E Investment Tax Credit for solar facilities will be phased out, and projects which have begun construction on or before July 4, 2026, will remain eligible for the tax credits.

Ingeteam Supplies Energy Storage Systems for Pioneering Data Centre Microgrid in Dublin

Ingeteam has supplied a 10 MW / 20 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) together with the Power Plant Controller (PPC) and SCADA system for a pioneering microgrid deployed at Pure Data Centres Group (Pure DC) campus in Dublin, widely presented as Europe’s first DC microgrid designed to power a data centre. The project marks Ingeteam’s third energy storage project in Ireland since the company entered the market in 2020.

Developed as part of the Orion Phase 1 project, the installation includes the 10 MW / 20 MWh BESS, already commissioned and operating, integrated with power stations and an advanced Energy Management System (EMS). During construction, the facility has been supported by a temporary 10 MW energy centre. This project is equipped with our liquid cooled technology INGECON SUN STORAGE C Series, creating a 10 MVA Grid Forming without any power deration.

The permanent microgrid will combine three energy centres with on-site battery storage, bringing the total installed capacity of the campus to 110 MW. The system is designed to operate independently from the national grid while maintaining flexibility to connect once grid capacity becomes available.

Located within Pure DC Dublin campus, the on-site energy infrastructure provides dispatchable capacity to support operations during the initial development phase and is expected to evolve into a hybrid configuration combining grid electricity with on-site energy systems. As access to grid capacity becomes a growing constraint for digital infrastructure and demand for AI and large-scale computing accelerates, solutions such as microgrids are emerging as a key enabler for the next generation of data centres across Europe.

38 Degrees North Acquires 104 MW Community Solar Portfolio in Illinois from Cypress Creek

38 Degrees North (“38DN”), a community solar and distributed renewables platform, and Cypress Creek Energy, a leading American energy infrastructure developer, owner, and operator, announced the sale of 104 megawatts (MW) of community solar assets in Illinois from Cypress Creek to 38DN. The portfolio includes 16 advanced projects that are expected to be placed in service by 2027.

Illinois continues to be a key market for community solar and energy storage in the U.S., supported by established policy frameworks and growing demand for distributed energy solutions. In 2025 alone, Illinois added 349 MW of community solar capacity, ranking second in the nation for installations.

For 38DN, the transaction represents a significant expansion into the fast-growing Illinois community solar market. The portfolio that 38DN is acquiring includes 16 projects spanning 14 counties in Illinois, expected to deliver $1.6 million in annual subscriber utility bill savings and $11 million in local tax revenue over the life of the projects. In addition to this portfolio, 38DN is actively developing, acquiring, and constructing other Illinois community solar projects.

For Cypress Creek, this milestone builds on more than a decade of experience developing distributed generation and community solar across the nation. In Illinois, the company has developed over 250 MW across more than 50 projects, establishing one of the leading community solar platforms in the state.

Additional development and investment in the Illinois market is a significant priority for both 38DN and Cypress Creek. The sale of community solar projects complements Cypress Creek’s build, own and operate strategy for utility-scale assets.
