Welcome to The Clean Fight NY: Announcing Our Partners in The Clean Fight to Help Scale Clean Energy Startups in New York State while Building Back Better and Boosting Economic Opportunity and Job Creation for All

The Clean Fight New York is proud to announce its inaugural corporate and investor partners who have joined to support scaling clean energy startups and clean building innovators in New York State while building back better during ongoing recovery from COVID-19. The partners will work with the 2020 cohort, to be launched later this year, that will focus on high-impact solutions to help decarbonize New York's building stock, at speed.

The Clean Fight is powered by New Energy Nexus and supported by The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Corporate partners include Baltimore Aircoil Company, Boston Properties, CodeGreen Solutions, Con Edison, Gensler, Hines, HXE Partners, and Schneider Electric. Investor partners include Energy Impact Partners, Generate Capital, MetaProp, National Grid Partners and Obvious Ventures. Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners has joined as a strategic advisor and The Lela Goren Group/The Plant is a founding partner and co-sponsor of the program, for this year's cohort and beyond.

"This is a critical moment for the country, where we decide how we are going to heal and build back better. Our vision at The Clean Fight is to rebuild a more sustainable, equitable New York with access to clean energy and its health, jobs, and savings for 100% of the population. We are excited by our partners' dedication to supporting a clean re-imagining of what New York can and will be," said Danny Kennedy, CEO, New Energy Nexus

The Clean Fight supports solutions that meaningfully reduce greenhouse gas emissions while creating high-quality jobs and economic opportunity. The accelerator is open to companies from across the United States and around the world who are aggressively advancing ways to meet carbon reduction mandates, while boosting economic opportunity and job creation for all. Applications for the 2020 cohort are being accepted until July 19 and under-served or under-represented communities are highly encouraged to apply.

Doreen M. Harris, Acting President and CEO, NYSERDA said, "Driving innovation helps New York State advance cutting-edge technologies that lower harmful carbon emissions, as we build back better for a stronger, more resilient future. The Clean Fight exemplifies how, under Governor Cuomo's nation-leading climate and clean energy agenda, new collaborative approaches can be employed to hasten our success at achieving a carbon neutral economy that benefits all New Yorkers."

New York State's nation-leading climate and clean energy goals were formalized under the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, which sets the State on a path to economy-wide carbon neutrality by mandating an 85-percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and 100-percent clean electric grid by 2040.

Buildings are responsible for two-thirds of New York City's greenhouse gas emissions and The Clean Fight's 2020 inaugural cohort is focused on one question: How can we decarbonize New York's buildings in a New York minute? With a laser focus on bringing growth-stage clean energy and efficiency startups to New York State to forge partnerships at scale, this program provides technical support, corporate and investor introductions and relationship-building, and the ability to apply for up to half a million in grants to fund resulting partnership agreements.

"The Clean Fight has big ambitions. We want to ensure that the most promising growth-stage companies from around the world can realize their potential in New York. But, beyond that, with this incredible set of partners we will be able to catalyze a broader conversation and action in the business community on how to decarbonize New York State while driving equity into the sector." said Kate Frucher, Managing Director, The Clean Fight.
