China Yumen Launch a New 2200MW PV-CSP Integrated Solar Power Project

Yumen government signed the Agreement to develop a new integrated power project including 2000MW PV and 200MW Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants, with the partners East China Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd, ENERGY CHINA and Jiangsu XinChen CSP Co., Ltd. (XinChen CSP, also known as BCP Solar Technology).

The total investment is around CNY 12 billion for the 2200MW integrated solar power project which is expected to generate an annual power output of 3,460GWh once completed.

Covering an area of 48 square kilometers, the project will be located at Huahai CSP Park in Yumen city, Gansu Province, West China.

HE Zhengjun, Mayor of Yumen expressed that the government would spare no efforts to support the execution of the 2.2GW project like offering the most preferential policy and high-efferent service.

East China Electric Power Design Institute and XinChen CSP, the project developers promised to soon start the earlier work so as to finally complete the project as planned.

Rich in solar energy, Yumen is one of the leading cities for CSP project development in China. As CSP Focus keeping reporting, four of China first batch of 20 demonstration CSP projects are located in Yumen:
 · Yumen Xinneng 50MW Beam-down Molten Salt Tower CSP Project
 · Royal Tech Yumendongzhen 50MW Parabolic Trough Project
 · Guohua Yumen 100MW Molten Salt Tower Project
 · Rayspower Yumen 50MW Parabolic Trough Project

Yumen Xinneng 50MW Beam-down Molten Salt Tower CSP Project under construction

On the meeting of progressing CSP demonstration projects organized by Yumen government earlier this March, the project developers like Royal Tech, Shouhang High-Tech and Rayspower all expressed their commitment to expedite the construction of the four CSP plants, and connect to the grid before December 30th, 2021 in order to successfully get the subsidy from the central government.
