Sargent & Lundy Announces 2020 Senior Vice President Appointments

Sargent & Lundy is pleased to announce its 2020 executive appointments. The following individuals have been appointed as senior vice presidents.

Michelle Hack is a Chicago-based senior vice president and senior project director for Sargent & Lundy's electric grid infrastructure business. She is the firm's subject matter expert for battery energy storage systems and was named among ENR Midwest's 2019 Top Young Professionals. She is also a leader and mentor for Sargent & Lundy's Women's Professional Network. Hack is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering (BSEE). She resides in Plainfield, Illinois, with her husband, Tim, and children, Therin and Alyssa. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, camping, beekeeping and volunteering at her church.

Vincent Heinz is a senior vice president and senior project director for Sargent & Lundy's electric grid infrastructure business. He is a subject matter expert on the bidding and management of engineering procurement construction (EPC) projects. In his tenure at Sargent & Lundy, he has served as an electrical lead and manager on several environmental retrofit projects. Heinz is a PE and has a BSEE. He resides in Lake Barrington, Illinois, with his wife, Adnybel, and children, Lucas and Olivia. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and is an avid woodworker.

Douglas Johnson is a New York-based senior vice president and senior project director for Sargent & Lundy's nuclear business. He is responsible for directing engineering and design services for various operating nuclear reactors in the U.S., focusing on upgrades, modifications and analysis. He is also the firm's primary contact for nuclear decommissioning services. Johnson is a PE and has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering (BSME). He and his wife Nancy are proud parents of Patricia, Oliver, Amelia and Andrew. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, camping and mentoring youth robotics teams.

Jill Liska is Sargent & Lundy's general counsel, director of legal services and senior vice president. Liska leads the firm's commercial, procurement and legal teams. She also pioneered Sargent & Lundy's Women's Professional Network in 2015. Liska is a PE and has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering (BSCE), a Juris Doctor degree and an MBA. She resides in Chicago with her husband, two sons, three cats and two dogs. Liska also serves on the Governing Board of Avenues to Independence, a regional non-profit that serves individuals with developmental disabilities.

Matthew Thibodeau is a Chicago-based senior vice president and senior project director for Sargent & Lundy's consulting business. He provides leadership for all parts and phases of the firm's energy consulting work related to utility advisory, power markets, resource planning, mergers and acquisitions, new project financings, renewable energy integration and grid modernization planning. Thibodeau has significant expertise in the development, financing, construction and operation of wind and solar projects, as well as battery energy storage projects. He has worked on projects throughout the U.S. and more than a dozen other countries such as Brazil, China, Pakistan, Peru, South Africa, Turkey and throughout the Caribbean. Thibodeau is a PE and has a BSME and MBA.

Daniel Weinacht is a senior vice president and senior project director for Sargent & Lundy's government services. He provides project management and engineering support to the firm's clients, primarily the Department of Energy. Based in Richland, Washington, Weinacht is a PE and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He has a BSME as well as a Master of Science and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. He has been a member of the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Mechanical Engineering advisory board for over 10 years and currently serves as its president. He is also an active participant in Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology (ABET) activities and serves on the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission.

Kurt Westerman is a senior vice president and senior project director for Sargent & Lundy's government services. He is the senior project director for the firm's work with national security operations clients. Westerman is a certified Radiation Safety Officer and has a Bachelor of Science in nuclear physics and engineering and a Master of Art in national security/homeland defense. He resides in Brentwood, Tennessee, with his wife Nancy. They have two sons and four grandchildren. In his spare time, Westerman enjoys playing golf, rugby and hockey. He is involved in several veteran charities, including the Green Beret Foundation and Operation Stand Down Tennessee.
