175.5MW Netherlands Wind Farm Achieves Financial Close

The De Drentse Monden en Oostermoer (DMO) wind farm in the Netherlands has successfully reached financial close. Mott MacDonald is the lender's technical advisor on the project.

The DMO complex will be built by three sponsors through special purpose vehicles with independent contracts. It will comprise of 45 wind turbines with an installed capacity of 175.5 MW.

As lender's technical advisor, Mott MacDonald undertook a review of design, energy yield assessment, project management, environmental and financial plans. The consultancy also assessed the project's plans and technical mitigants to achieve compliance with a permitting condition on electromagnetic interference with the nearby LOFAR telescope.

Mott MacDonald's project managers Pablo Marquez Belzunce and Elie Gournay said: "We are delighted that the DMO wind farm has reached financial close. It is great to work on a project with so many different stakeholders working successfully together."

The consultancy will now monitor construction and operation in an ongoing role.

The full commissioning of the project is expected by summer 2021.
