VARTA Enhances its Expertise in Energy Storage with the Hiring of Bengt Stahlschmidt as New General Manager Energy Storage Systems

VARTA is responding to ongoing business growth and expanding its management team. Bengt Stahlschmidt has been recruited for the newly created position of General Manager Energy Storage Systems in the division Power & Energy. The 56-year-old is responsible for the development, production and sales of private home storage systems and commercial large-scale storage systems, and he reports directly to Gordon Clements, the General Manager for the division Power & Energy. This new position creates a direct link between development and sales for the first time to enable the company to react quickly and more efficiently to changes in the market. The aim is to further strengthen the market position in the home storage market and to press ahead with internationalisation.

"Bengt Stahlschmidt brings wide-ranging experience in sales and marketing, business development, and skills in company organisation and reorganisation to this position," Gordon Clements explains. "He is a proven performer with specialist knowledge in the areas of energy, IT and energy efficiency. Bengt Stahlschmidt has many years of experience in the energy storage market and in energy efficiency solutions. A graduate in mechanical engineering and business administration, he was last Business Development Manager at redT energy storage, before that Head of Global Sales at Gildemeister energy storage.
