Foss & Company Names Bryen Alperin Vice President of Renewable Energy Investments

Foss & Company, Inc., a nationaly recognize institutional investment fund sponsor headquartered in San Francisco, has announced the promotion of Bryen Alperin to Vice President of Renewable Energy Investments. The promotion further strengthens the firm's senior team, which continues to uphold Foss & Company's 35-year tradition of excellence in the tax credit investment marketplace.

"We were lucky to have Bryen already in the firm, and even luckier to be able to bring him over to lead our renewable energy project investment team," said Alex Tiller, Managing Director at Foss & Company.  "Back in his banking days, Bryen literally used to teach commercial underwriting and project finance to young bankers. He is uniquely qualified to drive the growth of our renewable energy portfolio, while staying laser-focused on risk management."

Alperin has assumed responsibility for renewable energy investment originations, underwriting, and asset management. Alperin will work with a national network of solar installation and development partners to finance solar projects across the country.

"As clean energy technologies drop in price and grow in scale, the value proposition to investors continues to improve," said Alperin.  "I am incredibly energized to push renewable energy forward by expanding access to financing. We are targeting project investment opportunities that will produce economic, societal, and environmental benefits."

Alperin joined the firm in 2017 and led the structuring, underwriting, and closing of 11 projects totaling more than $70 million in tax equity investments. In 2018, Alperin was a key contributor in launching a new $150 million proprietary tax equity fund and led the firm's expansion into the commercial PACE market.

Alperin graduated magna cum laude from University of California, Davis with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. He has relocated to Foss & Company's Denver office.
