"Tangible Wind Energy" is what the world's leading wind industry expo, WindEnergy Hamburg, will offer on its last day, 28 September. Interested non-industry visitors will be welcome to see the impressive exhibits and digital applications of this major industrial segment at the Hamburg Messe fair site. A performance by the Ukrainian singer Ruslana will deliver energy of a different kind. Furthermore, the industry fair will become an international job exchange this Friday: In the Recruiting Area and along the Job Route, numerous companies will show what they have to offer as employers. All in all, more than 1,400 exhibitors from 40 countries have been presenting their innovations and services for the onshore and offshore wind industry at the fair. All international industry leaders as well as specialised suppliers to all segments of the value chain are featured in nine exhibition halls. Taking place in parallel, the global WindEurope conference offers a high-profile programme where more than 250 expert speakers cover current and future topics related to wind energy. Both top-ranking events have joined hands to form the Global Wind Summit, the biggest and most important gathering of the wind industry worldwide.
 
WindEnergy Hamburg supports the 10th Hamburg Climate Week
For the 10th time the famous port city is celebrating Hamburg Climate Week this week, presenting more than 100 events and demonstrations. As a partner of Climate Week, the world's leading expo for wind energy is therefore opening its doors for the general public on Friday. Anyone curious to learn what this innovative industry is all about will be able to purchase a reduced-price admission ticket for €15 on Friday. Fascinating and highly instructive exhibits are waiting to be explored in nine exhibition halls, providing comprehensive information on onshore and offshore wind power as well as energy storage and sector coupling.
 
Time to listen - Ruslana on stage
A small concert with a big message: The Ukrainian singer Ruslana, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, will perform at WindEnergy Hamburg on Friday. Her performance on the stage between halls B2 and B7 begins at 12 noon, and will be all about an energy future for the world that entirely relies on renewables. During the concert the artist, who has been advocating the use of renewable energy for many years, will be officially appointed ambassador of the RE100 initiative which was launched by the former actor and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. A number of major enterprises, including the entertainment giant Sony, have already joined this initiative which is committed to 100 per cent renewal electricity for the world. Of course, the stage truck will be supplied with 100per cent solar energy and feature a biofuel-powered standby electricity system. The concert has been organised by WindEnergy Hamburg in conjunction with the World Wind Energy Association and the Global100RE platform.

The German wind energy association Bundesverband WindEnergie presents itself at the world's leading expo for wind energy as the industry's centre of excellence for Germany. In its community information session on Friday, the organization will give citizens an opportunity to get answers to their wind power-related questions. One of the most frequently-heard questions relating to the continuing expansion of wind power capacity is this: "How does a new wind energy project benefit communities and citizens?" At the BWE stand in Hall A1, stand 308, experts will be ready to give answers to this and many other questions.
 
Experts wanted: Information about jobs and careers in the wind industry
On the last day of the fair, numerous exhibitors will focus on their role as employers at the forum in the Recruiting Area (in the connecting corridor between halls B1 and B2 on the upper level). With the exhibition continuing all around them, skilled jobseekers will be able to meet up with human resources managers and learn about specific training and employment opportunities. In addition, many stands in all the exhibition halls will be staffed with specialists ready to answer questions about careers and specific job openings. Visitors can find information on participating exhibitors in the Visitor Guide which is available at the fair Hall entries, or in the online exhibitor directory.  The Job Route is marked in green throughout the exhibition halls.
