Clean Energy Leaders Host Panel Discussion and Local Renewables Tour During Global Climate Action Summit Week

Representatives from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) will join State Senator Scott Wiener, members of the California Community Choice Association (CalCCA), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), Salesforce and California's first CCA electricity provider, MCE, for a panel discussion on the region's innovative clean energy programs.

Hosted at the downtown San Francisco SPUR headquarters, the discussion will focus on the future of clean energy programs in California, including the SFPUC's CleanPowerSF initiative, while also detailing efforts to foster community partnerships, local renewable energy projects and workforce diversity programs through community choice energy programs. Additionally, the talk will cover private sector engagement strategies on clean energy and climate mitigation, and new technologies and incentives in energy efficiency and storage.

The panel discussion, titled, "From Local to Global: How Homegrown Energy Programs are Greening the Golden State," is an affiliate event of the Global Climate Action Summit taking place in San Francisco from September 12 - 14. An optional tour of local sites producing renewable energy will follow the panel discussion, providing unique access to Richmond's MCESolar One, the largest public-private solar partnership in the Bay Area, and WasteManagement's state-of-the-art, gas-to-energy plant at Redwood Landfill in Novato.
