Hannah Solar Government Services Announces the Completion of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's First Solar Energy System

Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) has completed the construction of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) very first solar energy system located at the El Paso Intelligence Center on Fort Bliss Army Post located in El Paso, Texas.

Headquartered in Charleston, SC, HSGS was awarded the contract to install the DEA's solar array by energy service contractor, Ameresco Inc., in the fall of 2017 with construction completed in the spring of 2018.

Ameresco currently works under an Energy Savings Performance Contract with the DEA to provide facilities like the El Paso Intelligence Center, with comprehensive solutions to modernize facilities technology and improve energy infrastructure without the burden of developing and financing.

The 2.5 megawatt (MW) ground mounted solar array constructed by HSGS contains over 7,300 solar modules and is estimated to save more than $9.2 million in energy costs. Col (Ret.) Dave McNeil, President and CEO of HSGS states "This solar array will provide decades worth of energy savings to the DEA and we are proud to be apart of their effort to become more energy independent".
